Thank you for your interest in my Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training.
After taking the past 3 years off my YTT to focus on my own studies completing a degree in Coaching at Cambridge University, and a qualificiation in Applied Positive Psychology, I am excited to be planning a YTC for 2017.
Absolutely, Positively, Teach Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a 200hr Yoga Alliance (US) registered Teacher Training. This unique teacher training programme is the first YTT to combine both Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Positive Psychology, and utilises a strengths based approach to both teaching and practising Vinyasa Flow. This includes learning about the concept of Flow and the work of Mihail Csikszentmihalyi alongside how to enhance and utilise key character strengths such as resilience, courage, curiosity, grit and perspective to inspire both the student's practice and the teacher's teachings. Working hard to identify the teacher's own inherent strengths and unique teaching voice, this training is best suited to experienced practitioners or existing teachers. There is a strong focus on intelligent and creative sequencing that takes into account the students and their needs and not a teacher's pre-planned class or agenda. The training will consist of learning how to create various class plans versus focussing on memorising only one "routine" and in the process work towards buiding the character strength of creativity.
This 200hr training will cover the Foundations of Flow in a physical sense, such as key postures, alignment, sequencing, simple mantras, basic anatomy, props and a plethora of effective enhancements. There will also be discussions and discourse around the roots of yoga, taking into account the hotly debated most recent discoveries around yoga and its history by respected scholars and historians alike. It will cover Positive Psychology, otherwise known as the Science of Happiness, and explore in depth the science around Flow, Growth Mindset and Strengths.
I am still in the final stage of confirming the details and a full syllabus however I am looking for the training to take place one weekend a month in central London commencing in either September or October culminating with a few days residential intensive training at my beautiful retreat Yeotown in North Devon. Full details with 2017 dates and London venue to be announced in April 2017.
If you wish to register your interest please drop me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org with your details and I will send you a course outline once the details are confirmed.
